At the Park Cafes we believe that leadership is about building a strong employee experience united by sharing common goals. The greatest success in our industry comes from providing our team with knowledge, developing skillsets that will allow them to grow, prosper personally and develop the confidence to not only become successful in the workplace but also in the world.

RACHEL HERBERT

PRESIDENT

Rachel's mission has always been to connect people from around the world with nutritious approachable food in a beautiful setting.

Her curiosity and passion for food started from a young age when her father’s work as an urban planner took the family to India, Pakistan, El Salvador and Brazil.

Each new place presented a new culinary adventure and a cultural experience where home cooked meals were highlighted by fresh and nutritious local ingredients.

DANA OPPENHEIM

VICE PRESIDENT

A southern girl with Jewish roots spending her summers visiting family in New York City and its world-renowned restaurants; Dana was bound to end up in the restaurant industry.

Her years of experience working in all aspects of the food industry eventually led her to Dolores Park Café in 2007 where she joined Rachel in the management team of the Park Cafe Group.

Dana continues to connect with customers and the community, helping secure, and grow the legacy that she and Rachel have created, ya'll!

GILBERT SILVA

VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

Gilbert leads The Park Café Group operations with responsibility for all its locations. He also oversees the company’s ongoing expansion into varied markets.

He is a passionate leader with a diverse professional background spanning over 20 years in the hospitality business.

Silva’s success and “secret sauce” as a VP? Good old-fashioned hard work, having the right mentorship, and nurturing an inclusive environment where people are seen, heard, and feel valued.

DAN MARCOTTE

CONTROLLER

For the last 10 years, Dan Marcotte has been helping to run the operations by managing everything from in-house bookkeeping, payroll, financial analyses and Human Resources. He is an important part of the infrastructure that keeps our company’s finances and people management running smoothly.

Prior to joining the Park Café Group, he was the in-house accountant for Papa John’s Pizza in San Diego, supporting 25 locations.

JUAN CARLOS REYES

KITCHEN MANAGER

Originally from Mexico City Juan Carlos Reyes joined the park cafe group in 1997 as a dishwasher. His first day on the job he was so overwhelmed that he ran out the back door in the middle of a lunch rush. The next day he returned to get his job back and stayed for 25 years.

Today Juan Carlos is a multi unit kitchen manager, mentor and trainer to our BOH team. At company parties you can always find him behind la plancha.

EDWIN CHE

CHEF

Chef Che arrived in San Francisco in 2004 from a pueblo in the Yucatan called Mamita. He joined the Park Cafe team in 2011 utilizing his many years of experience in the San Francisco culinary scene to create unique dishes using local ingredients from around the Bay.

Today, Edwin creates menus and oversees production for multiple Park Cafe locations including our SFO commissary.
